We are located on the plains of Eastern Colorado, just 35 minutes southeast of Denver, Colorado. Our home sits on 40 acres of dog paradise. While our dogs are pampered inside our home, we do have several large fenced runs for them to enjoy the beautiful Colorado weather.
My love for Old English Sheepdogs began as a child, but the dream became a reality in 2010, with our first of several Old English Sheepdogs. In 2014, our vision shifted and we decided to move this dream into the show ring. With our most promising bitches and with the partnership of a mentor, Whimzy OES was born.
This mentor, Holly McIntire of Tales End OES, is now part of Whimzy OES.
While we cannot promise a lifetime free of disease or health issues, we can assure that all steps are taken to give our Old English Sheepdogs the best start in life. Prior to breeding, our personal dogs are tested for diseases and health issues that are common in OES. Testing includes OFA hips and elbows, CERF/CAER, MDR1, EIC, CA, DM, BAER, PCD, heart and thyroid. We do our best to breed to fully tested dogs, as well. On occasion, this is not possible due to use of frozen semen on dogs collected prior to identification of testing, lack of testing facilities, etc. In any event, we do our best to consider the potential health risks involved with every breeding and plan accordingly.
At Whimzy OES, we devote many hours to helping develop stronger, healthier and well adjusted OES. We begin with the biotinus vigor test right after birth and proceed to Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) from days 3-16. These exercises work to decrease stress in the puppies and create stronger immune systems. In addition, we have added scent work to our daily exercises with the puppies.
We also practice early socialization exercises and follow the Puppy Culture training method. Our hope is to create healthy and well adjusted puppies who will adjust to both the home environment as well as the show ring.

We are located in rural Colorado, just southeast of Denver.
Yes! Our dogs undergo rigorous health testing prior to breeding. You can find most of the results on the OFA website. If for some reason tests are not on OFA, we can provide copies.
We test for: OFA hip and elbows, thyroid, cardiac, CERF (eyes), BAER (hearing), MDR1, EIC, PCD and CA. Full panel DNA is also completed on our breeding stock.
When you purchase a puppy from Whimzy OES, you receive a vet checked, healthy and sound puppy. We work hard during the initial weeks to socialize all puppies to many different situations. In addition, we begin the crate training and potty training process so that the transition to forever homes is as easy as possible. Prior to going home, pups are microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed and BAER tested. In some cases, we will provide full Wisdom Panel or Embark DNA test results. We provide registration paperwork already completed and 1 month health insurance. Lastly, we provide all Whimzy family lifetime support and mentorship.
Pups placed in verified show homes will receive Full Registration. These pups will be placed under a co-ownership contract with Whimzy OES. All pet placements will be Limited Registration with a signed no breeding contract.
Yes. We are all members, in good standing, of the Old English Sheepdog Club of America (OESCA).
We are happy to work with you to find a mentor and shows close to where you live.
